He is survived by: his parents, Larry Shaffer and Cindy Shaffer (Bunde) of Morenci; his wife Kristy; his children, McKenna Shaffer (Dylan Leathers) of Odessa, TX and Mason Shaffer of Morenci; his sister Stacy Yatzek (Scott) of Adrian; his mother-in-law Georgia Zuvers of Morenci; his brother-in-law Scott Zuvers (Natalie) of Morenci; and his nieces and nephews, Sidny, Sedric Yatzek, Josie, Emily, Tessa and Noah Zuvers.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, January 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home - Morenci (303 N Summit St, Morenci, MI 49256). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Oak Grove Cemetery - Morenci State.
