He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwood William Gillen and Wilma Blance Gillen (Hart); his son Michael; his siblings, Joanne Stiverson and James E. Gillen; and his daughter Judy Kauffman.
He is survived by: his wife Jane Keefer; his son John Gillen (Audrey); his sister Janis Becker (George); and his daughter-in-law Karen Gillen (Michael). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
