He was predeceased by: his father Frank Monroe; and his siblings, Ruth Rice, Pearl Duncan, Robert Monroe and Ervin Monroe.

He is survived by: his wife Doris Monroe; his children, Susan Dinsmore (Lawerce), Larry Monroe (Darnise) and Mary Lou Mahan (Mike); his grandchildren, Tom Ward (Kara), Amy Savage (Rick), Heather Monroe (Chris Walker), Lorie Curtis, Larry Monroe II, Terri Dinsmore and Tammy Beardsley (Anson); and his brother Loyal Monroe. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, 5 great great- grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family for future destinations.
