He was predeceased by: his wife Nancy Yingling Shook; and his children, Robin Shook, Karen Merrell (Kevin), Joe Shook and Nancy Scott (Erik).

He is survived by: his siblings, Carl Shook, Katherine Ramirez, Carlene Crowley (Al), Jane Eggleston, Erma Potruff, Glenn Shook (Mary), Darryl Shook (Betty), Linda Hughes, Marene Yzaguirre, Michael Shook and Dale Shook. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
