He was predeceased by: his parents, Merlin Shimp and Irene Shimp (Wells); his wife Betty (Stiner); and his brother Russell Shimp. He is survived by: his children, Lynette Kast of Quincy, Rochelle McNeil (Tom) of Camden, Richard Frelin of Toledo, John Shimp (Shawn) of Lansing and Todd Shimp (Stacy) of Hillsdale; and his brothers, Norman Shimp (Susan) of Pelki and Edward Shimp of Hillsdale. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
