He is survived by: his spouse Ruth Smith; his sons, Michael Van Aken (Jo Ann) of Garrett and David Van Aken (Chandra) of Fremont; his son-in-law Steven Hornbrook of Angola; and his siblings, Beverly Hukill (Jerry) of Hillsdale, Robert Van Aken (Sally) of Montgomery, Dennis Aken and Mark Van Aken. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
