He was predeceased by: his parents, Forest Grieve and Esther Grieve (Ferris); his sister Jill Bosch; and his cousin L. D. Grieve. He is survived by: his wife Merry Grieve; his children, Jimme Grieve (Brandy), Ann Kiesgen (Randy), Fred Russell (Michelle), Misty Jaekel (Jason) and Tatum Grieve; and his grandchildren, Aaliyah, Markell, Zach, Reese, Corbin, Katelyn, Zane, Knox, Avery, Joslynn, Elijah, Isaac, Titus, Xavier, Jerry and Temperance.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request donations be sent to White Lake Baptist Church in James's memory.
