He was predeceased by: his wife Georgetta Carney; his siblings, Mary Gabany, Frank, Peter, Theresa Bailow, Katherine McCraight, Ella Grassel, Junior (Earl), Nickolas (Arthur), Melvin and Loretta Smith; and his sons, John and Roy Grassel.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Tassell (Roger) of Plymouth, Amy Ayers (David) of Tremont and David Grassel of Monroe. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; twenty-three nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephew; and some great-great nieces and nephews.
