It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas A. Matthes of Monroe, Michigan, who passed away on July 25, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert J. Matthes and Gertrude I. Matthes (Goodnough). He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Ann Chambers; his children, Anne M. Matthes of Grand Rapids and Michael T. Matthes of Canton; his granddaughters, Kaitlyn Euker, Lyndsey Euker and Isabella Matthes; his great grandchildren, Michael Euker, Marianna Tijerina and Xavier Tijerina; his sister Elden Krzyske (Barbara) of Waltz, MI; his nieces, Susan Calkins (Richard) and Karen Makowski (Robert); and his nephew Timothy Krzyske (Heather). He is also survived by six great nephews and nieces.
He was past member and president of the Board of Trustees of the Monroe County Community Foundation.
