She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn Shankleton and Stella Shankleton (Zabik); her husband Andrew; her great grandchild Kamryn Lamb; her siblings, Marjorie Schmelz and Ronald Shankleton; her stepmother Dorothy Shankleton; her brothers-in-law, Richard Schmelz and Gustave Laroy; and her son-in-law Craig Jacobs.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Vandevelde (Laurie) of Newport, Deborah Jacobs (Jeff Terry) of Fenton and Lois Kubik (Mark) of Monroe; and her grandchildren, Jill, Jamie, Ben, Lindsay, Alex, Kyle, Nathan and Corey.
The lying in state will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Michael Catholic Church (502 W Front St, Monroe, MI 48161). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honor of Shirley are suggested to St. Michaels Catholic Church of Monroe.
