With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Mary Catherine Shields of Monroe, Michigan, born in Speedwell, Tennessee, who passed away on October 25, 2023 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lonnie Smith and Lilly Smith (Leach); her stepdaughter Denise Mata; her siblings, Juanita, Dorothy Smith, Conley Smith, Hobert Smith and Lonnie Smith Jr.; her siblings-in-law, Bonnie Smith and Ernest Manning; and her nephew Larry Manning.
She is survived by: her former husband Eugene Sparks; her husband William Charles "Bill" Shields; her children, Fred Sparks, Tammy Sparks, Donnie Shields, Greg Shields (Tonya) and Brad Shields (Holli); her sister Edna Manning; her sister-in-law Kathleen Smith; and her grandchildren, Autumn Sparks, Lance Shields (MacKenzie), Jackson Shields, Isaac, Haven, Micah, Joseph, Titus, Lewis, Malachi, Hannah, Hazel, Owen and Hayleyana Shields.
