He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Ely and Anne Ely (Clouse) of Monroe; and his siblings, Leah Treece, Neil Ely, Bernard Ely, Vivian Goins, Jack Ely and Leonard Ely.
He is survived by: his wife Pauline Ely (Rogers) of Monroe; his sons, Ronald Ely (Joy) and Fred Ely; his granddaughters, Brooke Sharp (David) and Morgan Ely; and his great grandchildren, Kimberly Sharp and Danielle Sharp.
