He was predeceased by: his parents, William Albert and Evelyn Marguerite Whitman (O'Donnell); his wife Flo; and his brother Charles. He is survived by: his children, Colleen R. Leavell of Carleton, Karla L. Meyer (Thomas) of Monroe, Craig S. Whitwam (Carmen) of Monroe and Judy A. McCain (Andy) of Petersburg; and his brother Richard "Dick" Whitwam (Pat). He is also survived by grandchildren, five treasured great grandchildren.
