He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Sortor and Florabell Sortor (Miller); and his brother Timothy. He is survived by: his significant other Almira K. "Sis" Standifer; his children, Bryan Sortor (Kathie) of Monroe and Lisa Sortor (John Fisher) of Monroe; his brothers, Ronald Sortor of Curtisville, MI, Larry Sortor (Kay) of Monroe, Brad Sortor of Lewiston, MI and Keith Sortor (Janet) of Erie, MI; his grandchildren, Kiara Sortor, Bailey Rowe, Bryan Fisher (Johanna), Alexis Sortor, Brooke Szczurek and Imari Sortor; and his great grandchildren, Dezi, Maddyn, Jaxon, Briar and Roman. He is also survived by brothers and sisters in law.
Memorial donations are encouraged and suggested to ALS of Michigan, St. Jude Children's Hospital, or the American Cancer Society.
