He was predeceased by: his mother Beverly Brownell (Root); and his father-in-law Kenneth Welch. He is survived by: his father James Brownell; his wife Cathy Brownell; his close friend Pam Phillips of Swanton, OH; his children, Michaela Brownell (TJ Dicks) of New Boston and Dawson Brownell of Monroe; his brothers, Craig Brownell (Kristin) of Ft. Wayne, IN and Mark Brownell (Laura) of Sommerset, OH; his mother-in-law Donna Welch of Monroe; and his niece Emily Wegman (John).
