She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Evans and Lelia E. Evans (Ellison); her husband Paul Shafer; her children, Brian Shafer and Robin Shafer; and her siblings-in-law, Shelby Jones, Gordon Shafer, George Shafer and Twilla Hamlin (Luster).
She is survived by: her children, Paula Prewitt (Robin) of Monroe, Tammy Massingill (Rick) of Monroe and Jeremy Shafer (Kelly) of Connersville, Indiana.; her grandchildren, Tyler Prewitt (Lisa), Whitney Rhoades (Scott), Jordan Prewitt (Gabriella), Paul Massingill (Tamara), Ravin Massingill (Sarah), Hunter Massingill (Jenna), Beau Massingill (Seaira), Breydan Shafer, Evan Shafer, Gage Shafer and Lincoln Shafer; her great grandchildren, Zane, Tinley, Selah, Hollis, Maximus, Maddox Prewitt, Carver, Caysen, Coen, Cyler Rhoades, Reese, Quinn, Sebastian, Rory, Scout, Georgie and Twilla-Jo Massingill; her sisters, Marie Jones and Elaine Hunter (Steve); and her granddaughter Jennifer "Turtle" Lee (Lisa Onngo). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A reception was held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the North Monroe Street Church of God (2393 N Monroe St, Monroe, MI 48162). The lying in state was held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Lady's Ministries at North Monroe Street Church of God.
