He was predeceased by: his half-brother Robert Smiley; his grandson Kyler Scott Smiley; his brother Fred Chearhart; and his friend Wally Piwok. He is survived by: his wife Janet L. Smiley of Newport; his sons, Michael Smiley (Patty) of Monroe and Scott Smiley (Jodee) of Monroe; his grandchildren, Kodey Smiley, MaKaylee Byerly (Alek), Gracey Smiley and Caleb Smiley; and his great grandchild Haven Scott Byerly.
A reception will be held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Merkle Funeral Service (2442 N Monroe St, Monroe, MI 48162).
