He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Gilbertson and Olivia Gilbertson (Hamann); and his siblings, Arnold, David, Mel Gilbertson, Dorothy Moore, Delores Hankins and Diane McGill.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Gilbertson of Monroe; his children, Diane Gilbertson of Monroe, Ralph Gilbertson (Pamela) of Monroe and Michael Gilbertson of Ida; his brothers, Jimmy Gilbertson (Shelia) of Ann Arbor and John Gilbertson (Bernadine) of Florida; his grandchildren, Amy Nolff (Jason), Jamie Gilbertson (Holly), Stacy Burhart (Adam), Nicole Czarnik (Mark), Jeremy Gilbertson (Christina) and Sarah Middleton (Josh); and his great grandchildren, Sophia, Caitlyn Nolff, Grady, Elsie Burhart, Parker, Kenzi, Brantley Middleton, Hunter, Riley, Mia and Eli Gilbertson.
A reception was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Merkle Funeral Home North (2442 N Monroe St, Monroe, MI 48162).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
