It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Jean Schumacher of Mohawk, Michigan, born in Devils Lake, North Dakota, who passed away on April 4, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Higgins and Floy Higgins (Brumwell); her husband David; her brother-in-law Roy Schumacher; and also Alice Pfiefer.

She is survived by: her children, Peter Schumacher (Laurie) and Susan Rantala (Dean); her grandchildren, Sarah Aaron (Tyler), Michael Schumacher and Marcus Schumacher; her brothers, Paul Higgins (Carla), Daniel Higgins (Debra) and Michael Higgins (Deborah); and her brother-in-law Thomas Schumacher (Rhonda). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
