He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Shastal and Shirley Martin (Elvin); his wife Ruth Shastal; and his brother Roger Shastal. He is survived by: his sons, Richard Allen, Steve Shastal (Helen), Matt Shastal (Lisa) and Josh Shastal; and his siblings, John Shastal (Kim), Jim Shastal, Sydney Shastal, Sally Padilla (Eugene) and Jackie Gerber (Don). He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
