He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas L. Johnson and Sara A. Johnson (Bassett); his wife Marjorie Johnson (Pierce); and his brothers, William and Thomas.

He is survived by: his children, Robert Johnson (Tina) of Mio, MI, Susan Goodrich (Keith) of Flat Rock, MI, Patricia Carsey (Don) of Atlanta, MI, Michelle Goodrich (Kevin) of Horton, MI and Sarah Garrett (Eric) of Mio, MI; and his sisters, Mary Allen, Helen Lomerson and Leni Rodd. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church or to the Commission on Aging.
