It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Alfred H. Burns of Millington, Michigan, who passed away at the age of 99, on January 4, 2025. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Burns (Bush) and Harry Burns; his wife Albertine; and his siblings, George Burns, Viola Kinney, Norman Burns, Lloyd Burns and Lyle Burns.
He is survived by: his children, Trudy Burns, Susan Burns and Wayne Burns (Patricia Eno); his grandchildren, Leah Burns Park (Daniel) and Kaitlin Burns; and his siblings-in-law, Elinor Forsyth Kroll and James Forsyth. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 12th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Millington United Methodist Church (9020 State Rd, Millington, MI 48746). The military honors was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 at the Millington Township Cemetery (4921 Main St, Millington, MI 48746).
Alfred contributed considerable support to the Rotary International Foundation and its goal to eradicate polio around the world; he was recognized as a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow in 1985.
