He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard D. Bidwell and Sylvia Sue Bidwell (Walters); his stepfather Merle Auger; his sister Linda Kay Bidwell; and his half-brother Aaron Auger.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Hendricks; his children, Mindy Bidwell (Mark Moore) of Onaway, Lisa Bidwell of Gaylord and Howard Bidwell Jr. (Amanda Panicali) of Cheboygan; his stepchildren, Tina Morell (John) of Onaway, Darlene Doeden of Wolverine, Sherri Moran (Jeremy) of Lapeer, Chris Long (Blair) of Missouri and Tony Schick (Theresa) of Kentucky; and his siblings, Duane Walters of Cheboygan, Richard Bidwell of Millersburg, Harold "Buggs" Bidwell of Onaway, Chris Bidwell of Cheboygan, Helen Mearing of Butler and Jennette Wesley of Afton.
