It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Kristo Vangel MD of Milford, Michigan, born in Gary, Indiana, who passed away on January 10, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Spase Vangel and Viola Adomitis Vangel; and her brother Stephen Vangel. She is survived by: her significant other Gail Cooper; her sister Mary; her nephews, Stephen Jr. (Dorothy) and Christopher (Michelle); her niece Natalie (David); her great-nephews, Stephen III, Robert, Michael, Paul, Eric, Owen, Carson, Aidan and Ike; her great-niece Blythe; her sister-in-law Marianne; her partner's children, Kathleen (Vince), William (Laura) and Scott (Abra); her grandchildren, Nicholas (Yangyang), Steven, William (Corinne), Robert, Alex, Gwen, John and Grace; and her great grandchild Penelope. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends.
