He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward McDowell and Mary McDowell; and his brother Thomas McDowell. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Lee McDowell; his children, Pamela Ann Babuska, Edward James McDowell (Mary) and Timothy Charles McDowell; his grandchildren, Megan Mallory Ritz, Ryan James Babuska, James Edward McDowell and Erin Christine McDowell; his great grandchild Finnigan Christopher Ritz; his siblings, Lois Mayfield, Shirley Diepenhorst, Patricia Leahy (George) and Margaret Morris; and his sister-in-law Barbara McDowell. He is also survived by many extended family and dear friends.
