He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Armstrong and Electa Armstrong (Youngs); his siblings, Eugene, Dale, Evelyn and Esther; and his grandson Logan Alan.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Burgar; his children, Greg Armstrong (Lisa), Cheryl Koenig (Ingo), Linda Heath (Gary) and Beth Mathoslah (Alan); his grandchildren, Shanna, Jonathon (Rachel), Sarah (Andrew), Ashlyn (Jacob), Laura (Drew), Brittany, Jordan and Zachery; his great grandchild Heath; his sister Viola Crawford; and his sister-in-law Joyce Armstrong. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
