He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Welter and Mary Welter (Hartman); and his sister Shirley. He is survived by: his wife Becky; his children, Jeff Welter (Becky), Ann Jewell (Sherman), John Welter (Tisha) and James Welter (Judy); his grandchildren, Jennifer Baker (David), Joshua Jewell (Halley), Jessica Brown (Cameron), Joshua Baird (Brittany), Jonathan Baird (Karlie), Breonna, Tyler and Rachel; and his siblings, Barb, Joyce, Linda and John. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
