He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Paul Garner and Frances Garner (Keltner); and his siblings-in-law, Dr. George Metzger, Lyle Anibal and Bev Anibal.

He is survived by: his wife Elaine Anibal; his daughters, Deborah Grimsby (Joseph) and Mary Heath (Brian); his grandchildren, Adeline, Lydia Grimsby, Gavin and Tristan Heath; his sister Mary Metzger; and his brothers-in-law, Robert Tester, Leon Anibal, Neil Anibal (Carole), Melvin Anibal (Gloria) and Marvin Anibal.
