He is survived by: his daughter Courtney Kummins (Brian); his wife Carma Kummins; his sons, Adam Kummins and Ryan Kummins (Kate); his stepchildren, Eric O'Kelley (Beth), Katy McGill (Mike) and Shaena O'Kelley; his sister Arlene Klayman; his nieces, Judith, Cyndy Klayman and Helaine Kummins; and his nephew Jeff Kummins. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
Joel received the Distinguished Service Award from the Atlanta Chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) for 30 years of contributions to that organization.
