He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Irving Hillis and Ruth Hillis (Merrell); his wife Ruth Loretta Blehm; his children, Jay Hillis of East Lansing and Lynda VanOmmeren of Mt. Pleasant; his grandchildren, Lisa VanOmmeren (Devin Millions) of Midland, Lori Mullins (Justin) of East Lansing and Thomas VanOmmeren of Mt. Pleasant; his great grandchildren, Anika and Ethan Mullins; his brother-in-law Elmer Blehm of Hemlock; and his siblings, Jim and Maxine. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Midland or to Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant.
