He was predeceased by: his parents, William Preston and Ethel Preston (Frank); his siblings, Theo, Lois, Betty, Harold, Melvin and Merrill; and his sister-in-law Karen.

He is survived by: his wife Estelle Weismiller-Preston; his children, Gary Preston (Diane), Rodney Preston (Jeanne), Tamara Gallemore (Bruce), Jeffrey Preston (Christina), Edward Weismiller (Diane), John Weismiller, James Weismiller (Kimmie) and Cheryl Reaume (James); and his grandchildren, Jamie Preston, Ashley Holmes (Tom), Scott Preston (Amy), Jennifer Techlin (Brian), Donielle Obregon (Gumaro), Michelle Vercher (Jimmy), Aaron Preston (Kirsten Gloria), Brandon Preston (Rowan), Stephanie Harvey (Michael), Edward Weismiller Jr., John Weismiller, Matthew Weismiller and Luke Weismiller.
