He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Cooper and Edith Cooper (DeLong); his wife Birdie Brandt; his children, Roger Allen Cooper, Dean Jeffery Copper and Joanne Louise Piland; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Taylor and Danette Cooper-Thomas; and his siblings, Norris Cooper, David Cooper, Phyllis Bihn, Evelyn Hartung and Vada Bihn.
He is survived by: his son Richard Cooper (Elaine) of Bay City; his grandchildren, Sandy Vitek (James), Michelle Neering (Shawn), Stephanie Cooper, Richard Cooper (Kelly), Frank Cooper, Clint Taylor (Kristen) and Chris Charville (Lloyd); his son-in-law Ron Piland; and his siblings-in-law, Norma Cooper and Gilbert Bihn.
