Born on July 22, 1948, in Bay City, Michigan, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Arleen (Krause) Shinevar. Colleen married her soulmate, Bennie Luptowski, on June 17, 1967. Their union was a testament to true love and partnership, lasting 47 wonderful years until Bennie's passing on May 13, 2014. Together, they created a legacy of love, embodied by their four devoted sons, Joseph (Kristina), Terry, David (Darla), and Daniel (Danielle), and their cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Lydia, Lucy, Megan, Rachel, Samantha, Tyler Luptowski, Andrew Rahn, and Heather Dignan, as well as many nieces and nephews. Colleen's family was the cornerstone of her life, and she extended her maternal warmth to her siblings Sandy (Tom) Marron, Christine (Bob) Shepard, and brother-in-law Joseph (Maxine) Luptowski. As well as a special companion Chuck Howe, and special friends Joann, Darlene and the Golden Girls.
She was a guiding light to her family, offering unwavering support and boundless affection. Colleen was predeceased by her sister Diane Gallandt and her brother Joseph Shinevar, but her spirit of love continues to resonate within the hearts of those who loved her. Her life was marked by a commitment to her community and faith. Colleen was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where her faith found expression through service. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary, where she formed lasting friendships and impacted lives through her volunteer work. Colleen also dedicated her time to the Pinconning Area Food Pantry. Colleen's interests were as varied as they were joyful. She took delight in scrapbooking and quilting, preserving memories and creating beauty with every stitch. A true fan, she never missed watching the Detroit Tigers play, and she reveled in the camaraderie of casino trips with her close-knit group of friends, affectionately known as the "Golden Girls.". Colleen's love of the outdoors shone through in her camping adventures, and music always had the power to lift her spirits.
Winter months found Colleen and Bennie enjoying the warmth of Florida, a tradition she treasured. Above all, Colleen's greatest passion was her family. Her love for them was the melody that harmonized her life's song.
