He was predeceased by: his wife Juanita; his former wife Alice; his son Randy Carter; his grandson Jamie Crosby; his daughter-in-law Connie Carter; and his sister Katherine Miller.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Thayer (Lynn), Robert Carter (Marsha), Beth Rutter (Jerry), Jan Hotz, Loretta Massey (Rick), Larry Crosby (Sherrie), Valorie Smith (Bruce), Joseph Ferris (Robin), Victoria Solomon (Brad) and Janice Hatfield; and also Ethel Carter (Bogart). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice.
