He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothea "Dot" Van Hove; his parents, Frank Hove and Mabel Van Hove (Gerloff); and his siblings, Russell, Elaine, Rosemary, Virginia, Jean and Richard.
He is survived by: his children, John Van Hove (Happy Oasis) of Prescott Arizona and Kathy Warren (Robert Jr.) of Metamora; his grandchildren, Robert Warren, III (Leigh), Sarah Ryder (Joshua), Kimberly Warren (Michael Rich), Christopher Van Hove, Micah Van Hove, Aaron Shakra and Alice Marsh (Tom Finch); his great grandchildren, Isabella, Connor, Ember, Makala, Lexi, Gabriel and Samuel; and his sister Lorraine Fleury (Robert).
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer.
