He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Viola Steensma (Hammond) and Romke Steensma; his grandchildren, Sarah, Brenden Kyra (Amy), Jayden, Adriana Timothy (Chrystal), Patrick, Samuel Ethan (Amanda), Lana Romke (Shannon), Rowley and Rusty (Romke); his close friend Jagger; and his friend Kim. He was also cherished by his four daughters and one son.
