Joseph S. Lunkas Obituary

In loving memory of Joseph S. Lunkas of Mesick, Michigan, born in Flint, Michigan, who departed this world on June 27, 2024 at the age of 76. He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Walter and Patricia Lunkas (Snodgrass). He is survived by : his wife Yvonna Lunkas of Mesick; his children, Elizabeth Padgett (Mike) of Flint, Richard A. Grant, II of Marion, Deborah Ann Aris (Ken) of Genesee, Victoria Andrada (Joshua Burch) of Traverse City, Adam S. Lunkas (Pat Long) of Grand Blanc, Rachel Shust (Daniel Mills) of Clio, Sarah J. Jones of Grand Blanc and Krystle Sweers (Erik) of Flushing; and his sister Jane Lunkas of Flint. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hall-Holdship Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation.

“So very sorry to hear about Joe. When we were growing up I really looked at Joe as a role model and appreciated his adventurous spirit. Years later I spent some time with Joe when we were both attending Mott Community College. I send my condolences to you Yvonna, Jane and his entire family. I know my Mom really appreciated the visits at American House. Please take care. He will be missed. Michael Lunkas”
