He is survived by: his children, Steven Thayer, Elkhart, Michael Thayer and Cathi Smith (Dan); his daughter-in-law Lauri Thayer of Palmetto, FL; and his grandchildren, Matthew Smith (Brianna) and Kristen Smith.
