He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Briggs and Jessie Briggs (Evans). He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Sue Hines; his sons, Kurt Briggs (Olga) of Fishers and Kevin Briggs of Mendon; his grandchildren, Mischa, Allison Briggs, Austin, Connor, Coleton, Ashton, Carter and Kaylena Briggs; and his siblings, Gene, Connie, Virg, Diana, Ronnie and Gary. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
