Betty Jane Swihart Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jane Swihart of Mendon, Michigan, born in Vicksburg, Michigan, who passed away on November 18, 2020, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Evelyn Martha Smith (Hyde) of Cherokee; her husband Clarence "Bud" Swihart; her father Jack Smith of London; her siblings, Bill Smith, Edith and Alice May; her aunts and uncles, Mildred Loosier (Jim), Vera Kniss, Flossie Noel, Betty Jane, Carl, Chuck, Roy and Alfred Smith; her stepson Bruce Smith; her parents-in-law, Harold Swihart, Walt, Sandy Swihart, Rowenna Swihart, Ron Swihart, Chuck Swihart, Connie Swihart, Carol Wadsworth, Tom Swihart, Jim Swihart, Jay Kelly, Bill Varner and David Green; and her niece Debbie Sue Kelley.

She is survived by: her daughter Pamela Anderson of Mendon; her grandchildren, Corey Hoffman, Ian Stewart (Jenny) of Kalamazoo and Rheana Uzunova (Vesko) of Varna, Bulgaria; her great grandchildren, Devony and Victoria of Houston, Texas; her stepson Lester (Evie); her grandchildren, Stephanie Shaw (Bradley), Melissa Swihart and Steven Swihart; her great grandchildren, Dakota Rose, Harper and Rob Metty (Kirsten); her grandchildren, JoLynn, Billy Smith, Jessica and Jenna; her sister Reverend Barbara Swihart (Ricky); and her parents-in-law, Phyllis Varner, Janette Kelley (Green), Bob Swihart, Denise Cook (David), Ricky Swihart, Julia Swihart and Pat Swihart. She is also survived by grandfather, my mother, my dad, my uncles and cousins and family friends.

We never dreamt that COVID would reach into the very center of our family and take our precious mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend.
