She was predeceased by: her parents, William Peterson and Genevieve M. Peterson (Smith). She is survived by: her husband Steve; her stepson Daniel (Alison Abrams) of St. Louis, MO; her stepmother Joyce "Ma" Abrams of Oregon, WI; and her stepsister Deborah "Deb" (Kevin Groehler) of Oregon, WI.

Memorial contributions may be made in Gen's name to Resurrection Life Church Big Rapids to be used to help fund ministries against sex trafficking.
