It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delores Smith of Mecosta, Michigan, born in Lakeview, Michigan, who passed away on January 15, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dale Root and Viola Root (Gunckel); her husband Jack Smith; her children, Gail Annett, Randy Scott and Bradley Keith; her brothers, Ora and Harry Root; and her siblings-in-law, Berdella, Helen, Sharon Root, Elaine, Maxine, Wesley and Kenneth Smith.
She is survived by: her siblings, Duane Root of Reed City, Eugene Root (Sue) of Barryton and Janet Jenks (Walter) of Grand Blanc; and her close friends, John Mayer and Dena Durante. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
