With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John Edward Wendt of McMillan, Michigan, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on December 25, 2021 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Carroll Wendt and Lydia Wendt (Tervo); his wife Jane Kirby; and his sisters, Carol Barker, Lorraine Alcorn and Diane Marsh.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Holem (Tim) of Melbourne, Florida, John (Karen) of Newberry, Ed (Laura) of Rives Junction and Kirby (Andrew Staelens) of Newberry; his grandchildren, Holly Nickerson (Brian), Cheyenne Holem (Tom), Frankie Takala (Chris), Edward Wendt, Christopher Wendt (Brooke), Casey Wendt (Megan Farley) and Danielle Eggleston; his great grandchildren, Maci Wendt, Gemma, Chloe Takala and Chandler Nickerson; his siblings, Don Wendt (Ann) of Eden, Mike Wendt (Mark) of Ferrum, Virginia and Gloria Dokum (Eugene) of Lansing; and his niece Betty.
Memorials may be directed to the Luce County Veterans Service Organization or the Newberry Fire Association in his loving memory.
