Richard William Herweyer Obituary
We are sad to announce that on February 19, 2023, at the age of 100, Richard William Herweyer of McBain, Michigan passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Mathilda "Til" Koetje; his son David Orlando Herweyer; his siblings, Jane Agema (Ted), Jack Herweyer and Orland Herweyer (Eleanor); his stepsiblings, Engleburk Maas, Barb Yarhouse and Donald Maas; and his siblings-in-law, Frank Westveer, Marge VanSteenis (Jay), Carl Koetje (Jean), Kay Boelema (Ed), Jay Sikkema and Clarence Koetje (Eleanor).
He is survived by: his son Steven Herweyer (Connie) of McBain; his daughter-in-law Ingrid Herweyer of McBain; his grandchildren, Alan Herweyer, Andrew Herweyer, Amy Herweyer, Dora Herweyer, Rich Herweyer (Ashley) and Ann VanDyke (Rick); his great grandchildren, Jackson Herweyer, Myles VanDyke, Lucas Herweyer, Brooklyn VanDyke, Greg Ochampaugh (Cecily), Steven Helsel (Brittany) and Jarred Helsel; his great great grandchildren, Nivaya Ochampaugh, Leylah Ochampaugh, Oakland Ochampaugh and Killian Helsel; his stepbrother Rick Maas (Judy) of Houghton Lake; and his siblings-in-law, Esther Herweyer of McBain, Rich Koetje (Judy) of Cadillac, Alvin Koetje (Carol) of Grand Rapids and Jo Sikkema of Grand Rapids. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
