He was predeceased by: his parents, Floris Koetje and Tressa Koetje (Diemer); his brother David Koetje; his brother-in-law Kenneth Kortman; and his parents-in-law, Rich and Alice Laarman.

He is survived by: his former wife Carol Marie Laarman; his wife Carol Marie Koetje of McBain; his children, David Koetje (Jennie) of Zeeland, Brian Koetje (Melinda) of Grand Rapids, Daryl Koetje (Joy) of McBain and Landa VanPolen (Ken) of Marion; his grandchildren, Joshua Koetje, Caleb Koetje, Isaac Koetje, Brad Koetje, Jaci Koetje, Nikki Koetje, Joel Koetje, Haley Koetje, Faith Koetje, Ryan VanPolen, Sarah VanPolen and Alex Sands (Melissa); his great grandchildren, Brianna Sands and Audrey Sands; his siblings, John Koetje (Dee) of Rockford, Donna Dykstra (Alan) of Whitinsville and Ivan Koetje (Carolyn) of Hudsonville; and his sister-in-law Linda Koetje of Falmouth. He is also survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sibllings, in laws, and nieces and nephews.
