He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Hamming and Ann Elizabeth Hamming (Beagle); his brothers, Jerry Hamming and Percy; his sister-in-law Kay Hamming; his sister Roma Hamming; and his siblings-in-law, Art and Marie Bazuin.

He is survived by: his wife Audrey Bazuin; his children, Roger Hamming (Beverly) of McBain, Shyrl Wimmler (John) of McBain, Patti Hamming of Traverse City and Anne Hamming of Middleville; his grandchildren, Sarah Blom (Conrad), Matthew Wimmler, Maria Hamming (Mathew Taylor), Katie Marentette and Lee Arthur Marentette; his great grandchild Cleo Taylor; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Bazuin and Ginny Hamming.
