He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Gerald Berg and Annaruth Vanden Berg (Sjoerdsma); his former wife Ruth (Vander Kolk); his brother Ken; and his sister-in-law Calista.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Jane (Voetberg); his grandchildren, Pamela and Greg Bos (Amber); his children, Mark, Julie Vanden Berg, Eric and Amy Vanden Berg; his siblings, Rich (Ada Vanden Berg), Dave (Willow Vanden Berg), Ruth (Hank Beekhuis), Joan (Larry Damhorst), Marv (Carolyn Vanden Berg), Sharon Langenberg, Ted Vanden Berg, Lois (Joel Vega) and Linda (Jim Schuitema); his aunt Joanne; his uncle George DeKoekkoek; and his siblings-in-law, Larry, Carol Redder, Betty Voetberg and Dale Voetberg. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
