He was predeceased by: his parents, George Berkompas and Elizabeth Berkompas (Ploegstra); his son Mark Berkompas; his grandson Jacob Berkompas; his siblings, Ruth Berkompas, Wilma Lenger (Bill), Howard Berkompas (Beth), Ted Berkompas and Edward Berkompas (Julie); and his brother-in-law Paul Meyer.
He is survived by: his wife Lois Ann Berkompas; his daughters, Cheryl Quist (John) of McBain and Marcia Berkompas of McBain; his daughter-in-law Kim Berkompas of Falmouth; his sister Janet Meyer of Grand Haven; and his in-laws, Nancy Berkompas of Rudyard and Janice Berkompas of Nashville, TN.. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren.
