He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruvert VanderMeulen and Sylvia VanderMeulen; his sons, Allen VanderMeulen and Danny VanderMeulen; his great grandchild Avery Roby; his grandparents, Fred and Bertha VanderMeulen; his brothers, Kenneth VanderMeulen, Roger VanderMeulen and Ronald VanderMeulen; and his parents-in-law, Chuck Workman, Evart Workman, Gertrude, Harold Heuker, Florence, Andy Banks and Lester Tacoma.
He is survived by: his wife Deana VanderMeulen; his sons, Brian VanderMeulen and Larry VanderMeulen (Natalia); his grandchildren, Heather Carey (Mike), Phillip VanderMeulen, Jeromy VanderMeulen (Lisa), Lindsay VanderMeulen, Lynda Roby (Jeff), Dawn DenHartog (Tim), Michelle Hoover (T. J.), Samantha Hale (Larry) and Jamie VanderMeulen; and his parents-in-law, Roger VanderMeulen (Phyl), Jean Tacoma, Marianne Kehr (Lou) and Franklin J. Workman (Gertrude). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and was blessed with many great grandchildren.
