He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth D. Oelke and Shirley M. Oelke; his sister Sally Parker; and his brother-in-law Robert Nolan. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Oelke of Maybee, Michigan; his children, Holly Scherer (Dan) of Monroe and Brad Oelke of Maybee; his grandchildren, Matthew Scherer, Zachary Scherer and Carlee Scherer; his great grandchild Xavier Vaughn-Scherer; his sister Karen Nolan of Maybee; and his brother-in-law William Parker of Maybee. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Exeter Township Volunteer Fire Department.
